Waiting for Joanne while I eat in solitude. There is a baby crying. Not just any crying; it's the crying where they're choking on the air they're breathing. It's REALLY loud. Somebody's got to do something about the kid. The crying is all on and off too. It'll settle down, and maybe one of the parents will say something or look at it or SOMETHING, and that'll set the snobby little baby off. GUH. The worst sound in the world is the squealing wail of a crying child.
So, I guess New Year's Eve is creeping up on us. Nothing ever seems to change due to it being a new year. I mean, change does occur, don't get me wrong, but it's never because it's a new year. And if things did change due to a change in calendar, things would be very wrong.

Hermitized
I had not seen anybody other than my family since Christmas Eve. Wait, I did see Joanne for about 3 minutes on Christmas day, but that doesn't really count. I had also not really left the house to hang out with anybody due to illness, so I had basically breathing the oxygen that I had breathed out. Gross, eh?
I finally decided to claw myself out of hermit-hood and begged Joanne to take me with her and her sister to the UCC (their internet at home wasn't working). Ah! So good to have human interaction! However, the majority of the day was spent 'cleaning' my room (it's still dirty as...dirt) and eating food without chewing so those horrid children wouldn't eat everything. Brutal.
I finally changed the record on my record player back to Billy Joel. Mr. Joel always puts a smile on my face, a spring in my step, etc. It's his one record, Glass Houses, that makes me wish I was a teenager during the 80's. The record slip itself is hilarious. Here it is:

Boxing Day Bus Ride Home
I forgot to mention that the worst kind of breath is ice cream breath. It is worse than coffee breath. On the bus ride home from the Oak, a girl was sitting beside me who had just finished her strawberry ice cream. Her friend was standing in front of her finishing her ice cream off. It was horrible. I had to turn my head completely to avoid getting a whiff of the horrid ice cream breath. Strawberry ice cream. The funniest part was when one of the girls looks up and goes, "Something smells like cheese. It's totally grossing me out."
Boxing Day
I slept for over 12 hours. I am truly beastly. However, I think it's because I am still sick. It's very hard for me to get up and I am constantly cold.
Have you ever had a great plan or idea, let's say for a school project or something, and knew exactly how you were going to go about it and such? Usually when that happens, people tend to forget about their weaknesses and overestimate their performance. That happened to me today. I still hadn't gotten a present for Sena yet so I peeled myself off my bed and started getting ready to go to the mall. I couldn't believe I was going to the mall on this day; taking the bus and immersing myself in hallways full of people. I devised a plan: Operation: In & Out. Operation: In & Out consisted of me grabbing anything that looked like Sena would like and just getting out, IMMEDIATELY. If all went as planned, I would've found Backstage Pass immediately and been able to catch the next bus home.
I had not included in Operation: In & Out my bad condition. I had also forgotten about my very bad sense of direction and that the buses were running on a completely different schedule due to it being Boxing Day. I was going to the Oak, which I'm not very familiar with, and I knew where Backstage Pass was but I had no idea how to get there. Anyway, in addition to wasting time looking for the store, I found out that buses were running on Holiday Schedule and had to wait 30 minutes for the next bus.
I was very cold when I got home. I guess I'll be staying in bed for the rest of the evening. Man, I really need to learn the layout of White Oaks Mall.

Xmas
I woke up to a million children thundering down the stairs. If/when I have kids, they are going to live in the basement, and I am going to live on the 2nd floor. I HAD to get up to open presents in front of everybody. I find it the most awkward thing in the world. I was actually waiting in bed until everybody was done so I could open my presents in private and thank people in private as well. They wouldn't have any of that.
I didn't make it to the Christmas service. Nobody was going and were going to a buffet. So...I cut my losses and went to the buffet. I ate small children, er, the equivalent of small children.
I was still sick; the whole head feeling way too heavy, drowsy, chills. Even though it was gross of me, as soon as I got home from the buffet, I passed out. I woke up feeling like the biggest, mushy, grossest, 20 year old female on the planet. However, this was a step up from the way I was feeling before and I decided to go out and volunteer.
Now I'm home, wishing I wasn't, listening to my buddy Jack Johnson.

Xmas Eve
I laid in bed all day. I am sick. I am SICK.
I had finally figured out what Sena wanted for Christmas, and I still hadn't bought it yet. That thought alone forced me out of bed (I don't want to make her mad...it will be not good). Nobody was going to give me a ride so I took the bus, the horrendous London Transit Company, to the Oak (White Oaks Mall, for all who do not know). Time of arrival: 5:18 pm.
The mall was closed.
I went to Wal-Mart, which was opened until 6 pm. I wasn't going to find what Sena wanted there either, but I do have 2 sisters who were still present-less from me. Grabbed something for Cecile in electronics and waited in line for YEARS. YEARS. YEARS.
When I got home, I passed out. Not really, since I had a pounding headache which I woke up with. Christmas is brutal. I think I have skin necrosis all over me due to my relationship with my bed. After hours of enduring my headache, I finally pulled it together and got up to get some advil.
When I was upstairs, my family was doing stuff and...stuff. Absolutely no love was given from them. NONE, whatsoever. In other words, I was shunned. Apparently my mom is mad at me, my dad is indifferent, and my sisters just don't give a crap. So I crawled back to my hole downstairs in the basement.
Usually it's like that. I think of my family as a dynasty, of bees. For those who don't know how bees work, the most important bee of the colony is the Queen. Most of the offspring are females and they're workers, also called drones. The males are made differently, which I learned about in a class but have completely forgotten how. My mom, of course, is the Queen/Empress. Empress Kim, I call her. Next is her heiress, Cecile. Sena is one of the drones, busily working away with whatever she does. My father, no explanation needed. I, however, am special.
I am an exiled bee.

Xmas Shopping
...is brutal
I spent a very long time wandering for Sena's present.
Then, I came home empty-handed.
Nice.
The line-ups are huge. Even if I had been able to pick something out, I probably wouldn't have bought it due to the queue of people.
There are way too many humans.
